8.2 Accessing Literature Through Paywalls

If you are reading this as a current University of Washington student, you have several options for getting access to research journals you would ordinarily have to pay for (other institutions are likely to have similar programs). If you are on a UW network, you will often already have access to the journals due to IP address recognition agreements UW subscribes to. If you are off campus, you can get similar priviliges by using the UW Libraries Proxy Bookmarklet.

If you are a current student, but not at University of Washington, there are very often similar ways to access academic literature, on-campus and (frequently) off-campus.
